Five Finger Death Punch Donate $200,000 to Team USA Athletes Ahead of LA 2028

Five Finger Death Punch donate $200,000 to USA Judo and USA Cycling athletes preparing for the LA 2028 Games.

Five Finger Death Punch have donated $200,000 to USA Judo and to USA Cycling’s BMX Racing and BMX Freestyle programs to support athletes preparing for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. The donation was presented Friday, October 23, at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, on the final night of the North American leg of the band’s 20th Anniversary World Tour.

The money came from ticket sales on that 48-city run, which kicked off July 20 at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey. According to USA Cycling and Live Nation, $1 from every ticket sold went to the governing bodies, which will use the funds for coaching, travel, equipment and training. No breakdown between the two organizations has been given.

“Unlike many other nations, the United States does not provide direct federal funding to its Olympic and Paralympic teams, making private contributions essential,” the announcement notes. The Los Angeles Olympics run July 14-30, 2028, followed by the Paralympics August 15-27.

The two members behind the initiative each chose a cause close to home. Founding guitarist Zoltan Bathory picked judo: “We cheer for our athletes when they step onto the world stage representing our country, but we also want to stand behind them during the years of work it takes to get there. I started judo at nine years old, and I still compete today. I know what it can give a person, how it shapes your mind, builds discipline, and teaches you to face adversity.”

“That’s why supporting USA Judo is deeply personal to me,” Bathory added. “I want more people to discover this sport, and I want the athletes who reach its highest level to have the resources to pursue their full potential. Our fans’ support puts us in a position to give back, and we’re grateful for that opportunity. As we close out our 2026 tour cycle, this is something we can all be proud of together, and we’ll continue building on it in 2027.”

Singer Ivan Moody directed his share to BMX, the sport of his childhood. “As a kid, I remember wanting to pursue a life amongst the BMX greats. My bike wasn’t a toy; it was my best homie, my key to freedom. My balance,” he said. “Music is where my heart belongs. But there are moments where I still dream the dream by watching the new world of riders. I feel like I’m donating to that young boy that is still riding quarter pipes and learning combos with his friends. Full circle. GO USA. Roll Out.” USA Cycling president and CEO Brendan Quirk has said the federation’s goal is to win 10 cycling medals in Los Angeles across its five Olympic disciplines.

The tour supported ‘Legacy’, the Las Vegas band’s 10th studio album, released digitally July 31 and on CD, vinyl and cassette September 18. According to the band, the album has topped 60 million streams and debuted at No. 2 on the U.S. Top Digital Albums chart. Lead single ‘Eye of the Storm’ became their 18th No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, extending their record for consecutive chart-toppers in the chart’s 45-year history, while ‘Nails in the Coffin’ reached the Top 10 at rock radio.

Cody Jinks joined the North American tour as special guest, along with Eva Under Fire. The band, which debuted in 2007 with ‘The Way of the Fist’, says it has donated more than $1 million to charitable causes through ticket sales, royalties and streaming.

Next up is Europe: from January 16, 2027, in Manchester to February 22 in Helsinki, Five Finger Death Punch will play 21 cities with Lamb of God and Bleed From Within.
