That night, Ozzy said goodbye to his fans in his hometown, 17 days before his death on July 22nd, 2025, at 76. He played a solo set, then reunited with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, Black Sabbath’s original lineup, for their first performance together since 2005. According to the announcement, there were more than three million requests for the 44,000 tickets. Proceeds were shared among Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Hosted by Jason Momoa, with Tom Morello as musical director, the bill featured Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Gojira, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Halestorm and Rival Sons, plus all-star segments with Steven Tyler, Sammy Hagar, Billy Corgan, Yungblud, Ronnie Wood, Jake E. Lee, Ghost‘s Papa V Perpetua and Sleep Token‘s II, among others.
“Ozzy suffered from chronic pain during the final six years of his life. His only wish was to perform one last time to thank his fans and say goodbye,” said Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife and manager, who oversaw the concert and executive-produced the film. “It was an incredible day when his peers in the rock world descended on Aston from all over the globe to celebrate his legendary talent and extraordinary legacy.”
The home video version runs three and a half hours. It includes full sets from Ozzy and Black Sabbath, guest performances from Jack Black (‘Mr. Crowley’) and Fred Durst (‘Changes’), a behind-the-scenes featurette, video tributes from Dolly Parton, AC/DC, Ricky Gervais and others, and the documentary ‘Sounds of Birmingham’. Audio is presented in Dolby Atmos, 2.1 and 5.1. Ben Wainwright-Pearce directed the film and Tim van Someren directed the live concert for Mercury Studios.
The 4K/Blu-ray/CD set comes in standard and retail-exclusive editions. The 4K/Blu-ray/2LP set comes in four variants: standard black, purple splatter from the Black Sabbath store, silver splatter from Ozzy’s store and metallic for specialty shops. The digital soundtrack collects nine songs: ‘I Don’t Know’, ‘Mr. Crowley’, ‘Suicide Solution’, ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ and ‘Crazy Train’ from Ozzy’s set, and ‘War Pigs’, ‘N.I.B.’, ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Paranoid’ from Black Sabbath’s.
A Deluxe Box Set, also available to pre-order today, arrives April 23rd, 2027. It includes three Blu-rays, one of them featuring all 35 Ozzy and Black Sabbath songs performed that day, covers by the guests included, in running order; two CDs; three 180-gram LPs; a 72-page hardback book with interviews with Sharon Osbourne, Tom Morello, Live Nation’s Andy Copping and production manager Jake Berry; an Ozzy pendant necklace; a numbered certificate of authenticity; and a film poster art print.
Ozzy’s last full solo tour, ‘No More Tours II’, opened at Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville, Florida, on April 27th, 2018, and its final show came on New Year’s Eve that year at Ozzfest in Inglewood, California. The 2019 and 2020 dates were postponed and eventually canceled, and he retired from touring in 2023.
