Imperial Triumphant have signed with Metal Blade Records, which will release the New York trio’s next album. The band has already finished tracking the record, its first for the label, with more details promised in the coming months. No title or release date has been announced, though Metal Injection reports the album will arrive in 2027.
“Imperial Triumphant is pleased to announce a new covenant with the illustrious Metal Blade Records,” the band said in a statement, adding that fans “can expect fresh decadence from Imperial Triumphant sooner than later.”
The album was recorded and mixed by Colin Marston, the producer and engineer who has worked with the band since its earliest days and is also known for his work with Krallice and Gorguts. The lineup remains the same as on recent releases: Zachary Ezrin on vocals, guitars and orchestration, Steve Blanco on bass, keyboards and piano, and Kenny Grohowski on drums.
The move takes the band away from Century Media, which it signed with in October 2019 and which released ‘Alphaville’ (2020), ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ (2022) and ‘Goldstar’, its sixth studio album, in March 2025. ‘Goldstar’ featured Meshuggah drummer Tomas Haake on backing vocals, Dave Lombardo on drums for one track and Yoshiko Ohara on vocals. In 2024, the band also reissued its third album, remixed, as ‘Vile Luxury (Redux 1924)’.
Formed in New York in 2005 by Ezrin, Imperial Triumphant blend black and death metal with jazz, avant-garde music and an aesthetic drawn from New York’s Art Deco architecture and early 20th-century advertising. Onstage, the three musicians wear golden masks and black robes.
