Thrown will headline a North American tour in March and April 2027. The Swedish metalcore band will play 23 shows across the U.S. and Canada, from March 12 at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia to April 10 at Empire Live in Albany, New York, with British crossover outfit Guilt Trip and mathcore act Fromjoy in support. Promoter Drusky Entertainment bills the run as the ‘Unwanted North America Tour 2027’.
After Philadelphia, the tour hits Irving Plaza in New York City on March 13 and Boston’s Paradise Rock Club on March 14 before crossing into Canada for Montreal’s Beanfield Theatre on March 16 and Toronto’s The Opera House on March 17. Back in the U.S., it continues through Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas — at The Portal at AREA15 — Sacramento, Santa Ana, Mesa, Dallas, San Antonio, Orlando, Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Cleveland, Buffalo and Baltimore. Tickets go on sale this Friday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. local time.
The tour supports ‘Unwanted’, the band’s second album, due Nov. 6, 2026, via Arising Empire. Announced Sept. 23, it features 11 songs, opening with ‘Critic’ and closing with ‘Subpar’, and has been previewed with three singles: ‘Split’, ‘Rehearsed’ and ‘Critic’. It follows ‘Excessive Guilt’, the Aug. 30, 2024, debut that also packed 11 songs into just over 20 minutes and won Best Breakthrough Album at the U.K.’s Heavy Music Awards in 2025. A year earlier, at the same ceremony, Thrown took home Best Breakthrough Live Artist.
The band formed in Stockholm in 2019 with Marcus Lundqvist on vocals, Johan Liljeblad and Andreas Malm on guitars and Buster Odeholm on drums and production. Odeholm, who also tracks bass in the studio, is a multi-instrumentalist in Humanity’s Last Breath and the drummer for Vildhjarta; onstage, Markus Matz has handled drums since 2021. Their debut EP, ‘Extended Pain’, arrived March 23, 2022, racked up more than 50 million streams and spent almost a year on Spotify’s Global Metal Top 200. The band now draws around 1.5 million monthly Spotify listeners and has passed 100 million total streams. Their sound has been tagged “pissed-core,” a label the band questioned in a 2024 Metal Hammer interview: “I’m not sure it’s that accurate, to be honest.”
Before headlining their own runs, Thrown toured North America, Europe and Australia in support of Knocked Loose, Fit for a King, Counterparts, While She Sleeps and Wage War. They have also toured with Invent Animate, Spite and Alpha Wolf, and opened a handful of shows for Architects and August Burns Red. In the U.S., they played Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville in 2024 and Louder Than Life and Riot Fest in 2025; in Europe, they have appeared at Hellfest, Rock am Ring and Bloodstock, and in 2026 at Download, Wacken, Graspop, Sweden Rock and Copenhell.
The North American leg follows an Australian run from Feb. 3 to 13, 2027, billed by its promoters as the band’s biggest headline tour there to date. It covers seven dates — Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane — with Boundaries, 156/Silence and Volatile Ways as guests.
